SXSW takes place online this year from March 16-20, 2021. The digital experience will feature conference sessions, film screenings, music showcases, networking, and exhibitions. Two prominent Dutch artists take the digital stage.
NANA ADJOA Wednesday March 17th 21:30 CET / 16:30 EST Singer-songwriter Nana Adjoa is a sonic explorer, armed with a deft poeticism and a fierce sense of musicianship. On Adjoa’s debut full-length, Big Dreaming Ants (September 2020), the Amsterdam based multi-instrumentalist finds herself contemplating such profound themes as identity, love, and our modern global society.
ALTIN GÜN Wednesday March 17th 21:30 CET / 16:30 EST The renowned live act has played strings of sold-out shows on three continents. Yol, their third album - following their GRAMMY nominated album Gece - digs deep to unveil a new palette of sonic surprises, widening their exploration of Anatolian rock and Turkish psychedelic folk to include dreamy '80s synth-pop and dancefloor excursions.
NEW DUTCH WAVE AT SXSW ONLINE
The New Dutch Wave at SXSW programme will give the stage to an innovative selection of Dutch creative entrepreneurs, policymakers and designers to share their vision and solution for a brighter tomorrow. The programme includes an interview with Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb on 'energy transition, creativity, and innovation capacity of the city of Rotterdam'; a 2-hour New Dutch Wave TV Show 'Time for Radical Reimagining'; the Dutch - German Meet Up networking event for creative entrepreneurs and innovators; as well as showcases by Nana Adjoa and Altin Gün.
