About
BumaStemra's Rise Up and Dutch Music Export are excited to announce an upcoming writing camp organised by CIAM exclusively for womxn.
The event will be held at the renowned Planet Studios in Montreal, Canada, from October 20th to 23rd, 2024. You are invited to apply for a spot!
Last year in Rio de Janeiro, CIAM organized its first songwriting camp for womxn, which was a huge success, attracting participants from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Canada, South Africa, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
This year, CIAM is organizing a similar camp from October 21st to 23rd, but this time in Montreal, Canada. The camp will focus specifically on producers and beatmakers. As the host region, North America will provide five songwriters/producers for this camp, and CIAM will invite writers from other regions around the world to participate. Over three days, they will collaborate in various combinations to write and compose songs.
The writing camp will be held alongside the CIAM General Assembly, which will take place on October 23rd and 24th in Montreal. This provides an opportunity to host a listening session at the General Assembly featuring the songs created during the camp, as well as a panel discussion on the role of womxn in songwriting and producing. CIAM will document the camp and gather testimonials from participants to create short videos and snippets.
To empower womxn in the field of songwriting, CIAM, in collaboration with BumaStemra and Dutch Music Export, is offering support for one Dutch songwriter to join this exceptional camp. We will cover the costs of airfare and hotel accommodation from October 20th to 24th, 2024.
So If you are a songwriter who identifies as a woman and are eager to explore the vibrant North American music scene with a wealth of experience in writing sessions and camp environments, we encourage you to seize this opportunity! To apply, please submit your motivation letter, CV, and portfolio to Dutch Music Export no later than the 17th of September 2024.
This initiative is powered by Rise Up, a program of BumaStemra. For more information, check here.
